Baby #2 at 10 weeks/4 days old!

I had my first OB appointment yesterday. Tim stayed home with taylor since we didnt think it would be anything but the initial exams/bloodwork, etc.  But I got to see the baby!!  My OB did an ultrasound to confirm my due date since I ovulated late in my cycle.  He/she was flipping around like crazy during the whole ultrasound and is actually measuring a few more days ahead of time, which actually puts my due date of Nov 18 instead of the 22nd. It was nice.  He/she has a heartbeat of 160-170 and seems to be healthy so far!  Tim was a little sad he missed it, but he got to see lots of pictures.

Here are just a few of the pics from the ultrasound.  And I labeled them in case you dont know what you're looking at!
Enjoy Baby Tomes #2 :)

Star of the show....as usual

(Taken a few days ago at the park, but clearly helps prove my point)

Taylor's ALWAYS the star of the show.  Trust me, if you know her, you know she really is....always has to be jumping around, singing or dancing for someone.  We had friends and co-workers of Tim's over on Sunday night for a cook out. Of course, for the first few minutes, she played the shy act and wouldnt say anything to them.  But after a few moments, she was hooked.  She would not leave Tim's friend, Rudy's, side. She just thought he was the coolest.   Of course, he was pretty cool to her.  He wrestled with her, danced with her, played in her playroom with her.  She had tons of fun. She even cried when he left later that night.  Yes, she literally watched him from the window and cried.  It was so cute.

Found a friend...

We went to the park at the end of last week...and of course, Taylor found a friend.  She REALLY does not get along with other little girls, she just has no interest in them whatsoever.  But she found a friend.  It was a little boy named Forrest, who was about 2 and a half years old.  She wouldnt stop following him around...and vice versa.

(**not a great pic, but I caught them "following" each other under the playset.  Too cute)

It's moments like these that make me hope a little bit that this next one will be a boy.  She just gets along better with boys and I think a little brother would be perfect for Taylor. But of course, we dont care either way as long as he/she is healthy :)  Though I am leaning more on a boy now...I'm like 55% to 45% boy :)

Oops

So, I am a clutz...or accident prone...however you choose to sugar coat it.  And I'm always making bad choices or breaking stuff or spilling something.  About a week ago, I went to bake some cookies to make ice cream cookie sandwiches for after dinner.  I did all the normal stuff, preheating the oven, put the cookies on the cookie sheet and baked em. About 5 minutes into baking, I started to smell something burning.  I opened the stove and didnt see anything wrong.  I had cleaned the stove with this nasty smelling oven cleaner a few days before and just figured it was the smell of that burning off the bottom.  So I let the cookies cook and just opened a window and hoped the cookies wouldnt taste like they were burnt.  After the cookies were done, I took them out of the oven and low and behold....found something was stuck to the bottom of the cookie sheet....

Oops.  Funny thing is that I've done this before.  We're down to about 3 out of a pack of 6 of these.  HA HA

**Disclaimer: normally when I do something stupid like this, Tim gets mad or flips out.  This time, he actually laughed at me!  :)

Pregnancy Craving #2

It's that time again...time for cravings....and guess who was there to share in my "grossness".  MY KID :)

Today it was cucumbers in vinegar.  Yup, you heard right.  You slice up some cucumbers and soak them in the fridge in vinegar. Kind of like the pickle concept, except much more sour and oh so yummy.

TAYLOR LOVED THEM!

Trains, Trains and more Trains

Taylor's new obsession these days is Trains!  She loves trains.  One goes behind our house and she LOVES to watch it. She freaks out everytime she hears the horn.

She also has a favorite train to ride in the mall nearby.  She LOVES riding it.  In fact, she'd stay on it all day if mom had that kind of money and time.

When her nana and papa came to visit, she just had to take her nana on the train with her.

Boo Boo

My mom and dad came up last week to help me out with Taylor after I had a breast biopsy. We were leaving IHOP one morning from breakfast and Taylor tripped and fell on her knees in the parking lot of IHOP.  She was bleeding...all over.  My mom and dad were freaking out, I was just like "eh, that'll leave a mark".  And Taylor was touching the boo boo.  Since then, she has become absolutely obsessed with her boo boo. It's like the coolest thing ever in her opinion. She's always showing everyone and pointing at it and touching it.

When daddy got home from his trip, she just had to show him her boo boo.

"Want Orange"

Two weeks ago, when we walked into Children's Place, Taylor flipped out and kept yelling "want orange" and pointing to a dress hanging in the clearance rack (good eye Taylor).  She kept whining and whining until I finally gave her the dress and told her we would buy it.  Then, it hung in her room and she kept begging to wear it but the weather just wasnt cooperating and it wasnt warm enough yet.

Two sundays ago, it was 85ish degrees, so we let her wear it to church.

She LOVES this dress. I had to hide it for now since the weather has been pretty chilly.

Pregnancy Craving #1

Yup, been having strange cravings lately. Most from my childhood.  Today, my craving was banana peppers.  When I was kid, I'd sit there and eat a whole jar of banana peppers all by myself.  MMM.  I almost did the same today...except I had a helper...
She is soooo my kid!

She even got mad when I decided to put the jar away because we had already eaten half the jar!

Taylor's First Show!

Yesterday, we took Taylor to Nick Jr.'s StoryTime Live in downtown DC. It was such a cute show.  It was hosted by Moose and Zee and they had 4 different "stories" in it.  (Kai Lan, Backyardigans, Wonder Pets, and Dora).  She had a ball. She was of course, more interested in Moose and Dora, but had a ball overall.
Plus, we cant forget that we had to take the metro to get to and from the show and she is just so obsessed over trains right now, so I think even that might have been more exciting that the show.

On the train, whining cause we werent moving!
Our seats!
Dancing to the intro music, waiting for the show to start
Watching the show!
The end of the show!  All the characters (taken from my phone, not a great pic)
Dancing and waving to Moose!
Almost passing out on the train ride home!

Warm Weather!

A few days ago, it was really nice outside.  In the mid to upper 80s to be exact.  After I mowed the lawn, I decided to take out Taylor's pool and fill it up and let her swim. We also invited the boys to come over and swim too!  It was so nice.  Me and Sarah soaked up some sun while the kids soaked up some kiddy sized waves!  A good time had by all!

Having a blast in the sun!

Baby #2....we are at 8 weeks!

We are 8 weeks pregnant today!   I figured since I know I'm going to be taking lots of belly shots like I did with Taylor, I'd start today.

And just so you know....The "bump" you see is not the baby, that's all the pizza and hamburgers and bad stuff I've been eating lately. HA HA  But dont worry, the "bump" will be growing soon enough.

Age 2 sucks...

So funny Tim and I used to go on and on and on about how much we were enjoying Taylor.  Once she hit about 15 months is when we started talking about more kids and we were just loving the age she was.  She was a sponge, would absorb everything.  She was learning so much...walking, talking...you know, all the fun stuff.  And she really was such a well-behaved little girl.

Fast forward 8 months....

The devil has taken my good child and replaced her with a kid who's whiney, ornery, and just flat out a brat!

(Okay, this picture is a few months old, but it shows the face I've been looking at for the last week!)

Ugh.  Today, we attended noon mass cause Tim was leaving town at 5ish to head to NY til Thursday.  I knew it would be a disaster and anticipated a meltdown or two.  Something about church during prime lunch/nap time does not cut it for Taylor.  But oh man, the meltdowns we got were way worse than anticipated.

And the last few weeks in general have just been....ugh. I know, I know I love my kid. I really do and I treasure every moment I get with her, I really do. But holy crap this "terrible two" crap is so taxing on my patience right now.

Being pregnant, nauseaus, and fatigued + Taylor's tantrums = kill me now.

An egg hunt, a basket, the park and dinner....

Yes, that was our easter in a nutshell. It was nice to not have to try to make it to Easter mass!  Since we went to the vigil we didnt have to go to mass on Sunday.  So, we just relaxed, had an egg hunt, found a basket, went to the park and ate one good meal.  YUM!  But Taylor really enjoyed herself.  She did her first easter egg hunt this Easter and even found her basket too!  My mom sent her a basket and some eggs (we've been too busy to make one for her this year) and she just loved it.  She hasnt stopped talking about eggs and bunnies yet!
But she had fun....she searched for eggs like a pro!  And enjoyed her day.

Her first egg find!
Already a pro...
Daddy didnt hide that one very well LMAO
Ha ha on her drums
She's so smart
That's my kid!
Found her basket too!
She loved it!
And even her gift from Uncle Shane too!

I'm a Catholic! Finally.

So, after months of taking OCIA classes and preparation, I am officially a catholic.  I was confirmed and took my first communion on Sat night at the Easter Vigil at our church.  It was a neat experience.

Waiting to be confirmed...

Bye Bye Motorcycle

So...if you know the story, Tim had a few motorcycles. Two to be exact.  He loved riding.  However, when we found out we were prego in Augusta, he sold one.  He kept the other one cause he just couldnt part with it. And since then....it's been sitting....and sitting....and sitting....in the garage not being ridden.  He basically said he just cant justify it sitting there anymore being neglected, so he decided to sell it.  Though I never forbid him from riding it, he did know how stupid I thought it was that he even had the dang bike.  I told him if something happened, I wouldnt sugarcoat it for our kids. I'd tell them "Yea, your dad made it through Iraq but died on a motorcycle". Stupid way to die if you ask me.

And I figured it was a good picture op to show the machine that wont kill this kid's father...
